I told him about our tight budget and can see that he is quite experienced and gave some good suggestions which our 1st contractor may not have proposed.
Lao ye was worried about these 2 contractors - they are not in the HDB Registered Renovation Contractors' list.
So I went to HDB website to try my luck and managed to find out this info from the FAQs:
Qn:
| If renovation works have been carried out by a non-registered renovation contractor, must they be removed? |
Ans: 'If the works carried out by the non-registered renovation contractor comply with HDB’s guidelines and conditions, you do not need to remove them.'
You can still use HDB non-registered renovation contractor, but any consequences, the owner is liable to be responsible.
