Nice American Big Breakfast at the resort, too full to eat the water melon even though it is complimentary from the resort. The drama, 'Winter Sonata' made Yongpyong Resort famous as most of the film shootings was done around this area and the resort itself. Went to take as many snapshots as possible after breakfast. Took the cable car located behind the resort and went up to the mountain peak.
The mountains behind the resort is beautiful when covered with snow during winter season. During the peak winter season, the resort is fully booked as many Koreans and foreigners will come here to ski and take the sky ride to see the magnificent view of the snowy mountains.
Unlike the Singapore cable cars which only took 5 mins to reach the final destination, Sentosa, the Yongpyong cable car took 20 mins for us to reach the mountain peak. We enjoyed viewing the beautiful sceneries outside through out the ride. Saw some withering Sakura trees. The best time to see fully bloom Sakura trees in Korea is around end of March to mid April. I hope I can view it in Japan.
