Met Up with 2nd Contractor

Today met up with our 2nd contractor - Eric, recommended by Ah H.

I told him about our tight budget and can see that he is quite experienced and gave some good suggestions which our 1st contractor may not have proposed.

Lao ye was worried about these 2 contractors - they are not in the HDB Registered Renovation Contractors' list.

So I went to HDB website to try my luck and managed to find out this info from the FAQs:

Qn:

If renovation works have been carried out by a non-registered renovation contractor, must they be removed?

Ans: 'If the works carried out by the non-registered renovation contractor comply with HDB’s guidelines and conditions, you do not need to remove them.'


You can still use HDB non-registered renovation contractor, but any consequences, the owner is liable to be responsible.

Opening Ceremony for My New Flat

This day has finally come - opening ceremony for my new hse!!!

After work, I met up with lao ye at his hse. Yes!!! We are gng to see our new hse today.

Thanks to XY for driving us there, I think he oso quite eager to see our new hse cos saw 1 of his blog posts mentioned. VIP is lao ye's mummy, who joined us for the 'opening ceremony'.

Successfully opened the door in the darkness and already saw a lot of flyers on the entrance flooring. Tink I like the living rm bay window area the most cos can view the whole park and can do a settee there.

We will be coming again on this Sat and this time our contractor, Michael will take measurement onsite. I had invited Wendy to come on the same day, can share idea & advise with her for the coming WXY's hse...

Collection of Hse Keys

You have an appointment with HDB to collect keys on 22nd July 2009, 1.10PM...

Actually the initial appointment time was 10.10AM, but dun wanna take leave and still need to wake up early to attend the appointment. Luckily can rescheduled the date or time.

Darling & I had a quick breakfast @ MacDonalds, then headed to HDB Hub 2nd level to purchase fire insurance, 7 bucks+ for 5 yrs warranty. After tt, went to L1 automated machine to get queue no. for signing docs.

Waited 5 mins and we proceeded to the office to start signing 'debt contract' cos today both our CPF OA will be wiped out and need to start paying mthly loan to HDB in 2 mths time.

In the middle of signing the docs, the officer told us to go L2 cash office to pay 48 bucks conservancy charges. After presenting the receipt, we continued to sign docs again.

Damn lor, suddenly I had stomachache, mind was thinking dunno whether the signing procedure gng to take long or should head to the loo immediately. In the end, endured till end of signing doc which luckily is quite fast. 45 mins for the whole process.

Recently has been engrossed doing research for my new hse renovation. Looking at those IDs' portfolio & glancing at design magazines is so interesting.

Had discussed with Lao ye the theme colours for our MBR to be black/brown & gold in order to give a cozy feel. Not forgetting our fav wallpaper. I was thinking of adding sum floral graphics sticker to some of my fixtures or on the wall.

For the living room, I will prefer a brighter look, will have a settee since both hubby & I love to read and have high tea. So next time we need not go out and spend a lot of $ having high tea.

As for the kitchen, we were thinking of using loud colours like orange or yellow to make it look retro.

I wanna have lots of compartment to store things & a big wardrobe plus shoe cabinet.

Come to think of it, my current job enable me to learn more about interior design & space planning. The most important, suppliers & contractors who can give me gd price for my hse reno!!!

Had my countdown ytd at East Coast Park and stay overnight at Grand Mercure Roxy with Lao ye & WXY.

Meet up with Moontie and had a nice with reasonable price Korean meal @ Seoul Yummy. Earned a free ice cream dessert cos' the manager said paisey to make us queue for so long. Maybe Moontie too attractive la...

Had our usual gals' talk @ Starbucks. Headed home ard 12am. We will be having crabby meal for our bdae celebration...

Wisdom Tooth Extraction 1

The day has come. Time to extract my 1st wisdom tooth. It took place on 27 Sep, Sun, ard 11.15am. Right upper wisdom tooth extracted.

Cant rem when was the last time I extracted my tooth. Really hate & dread the process... The lower part of the tooth at both side haven grown yet. Best it will never grow.

Nothing special happened today. We bought nice tibits by House of Steamed Potato fm J8 NTUC. Ate the tibits with hot green tea and watched Olympic opening ceremony at Bb's hse.

Rainy Day. Went to have dinner @ Xin Wang Cineleisure with H & Dada. Mr D cant make it cos he went for KL business trip.

Thanks to Da, we have priority reservation cos' she has the member card. Went to chk out their website and realized two more new outlets coming up - Plaza Sing (Next week or the week after) & North Pt in early Oct!!!

Anyway, thinking of signing the card for myself mayb next mth....

Great Taste, Great Food

Thanks to lao ye. Today he brought me to Soup restaurant at Scotts for dinner.

We ordered the set meal for 2. Their recommended dish - Samsui chicken, the 'Ah po' tapioca leave and soup of the day - Corn ribs soup etc, all were so tasty. One day will bring my family members to try, think they will like it.

Now, wonder which hairstyle shall I go for...

I will not forget today. Really got a shock... Thought I was dreaming. Suddenly achieved one or shall I say two of my targets which I set for this next half yr ?


Boss got a shock when Ah H 'throws' letter last Fri. I was enjoying my Sakae sushi with Lao ye @ Park Mall when this incident happened. Lol.

Hope Lao ye's cough will be gone soon.

1 Yr Anniversary

Yes... Worked for 1 yr in my current job liao...

2008 2nd Half Yr

Make some planning for the next half yr, hope I will implement it. :)

Went to look at my future house's progression today, oreadi build up to level 12 wor, high possibility that the construction will be completed by this yr.

My colleague advised muz at least have 30K for renovation. Think must save another 10K for furnitures, electrical & electronic items, not sure enough or nt.
