8th May 2007 (Tues) Hot Spring

Nice American Big Breakfast at the resort, too full to eat the water melon even though it is complimentary from the resort. The drama, 'Winter Sonata' made Yongpyong Resort famous as most of the film shootings was done around this area and the resort itself. Went to take as many snapshots as possible after breakfast. Took the cable car located behind the resort and went up to the mountain peak.

The mountains behind the resort is beautiful when covered with snow during winter season. During the peak winter season, the resort is fully booked as many Koreans and foreigners will come here to ski and take the sky ride to see the magnificent view of the snowy mountains.

Unlike the Singapore cable cars which only took 5 mins to reach the final destination, Sentosa, the Yongpyong cable car took 20 mins for us to reach the mountain peak. We enjoyed viewing the beautiful sceneries outside through out the ride. Saw some withering Sakura trees. The best time to see fully bloom Sakura trees in Korea is around end of March to mid April. I hope I can view it in Japan.

7th May 2007 (Mon) - Yongpyong Resort

Breakfast is the same as yesterday, but taste nicer. Went to Dragon Head Rock before catching our flight back to Seoul. Goodbye Jeju...

Upon reaching Seoul, our coach took us to Everland (Korea Disneyland) located at Yong In. We did not have time to enjoy the rides at Everland. The only ride we had was the sky ride. We queued for half an hour to take the shuttle bus which drove us into a Safari to watch the lions, tigers which are living together. They were not being lock up. Separated from these two animals living in another space were the big lazy bears. Dinner was on own expense, had to rush eating so that Des and I can buy some souvenirs from Everland's tourist shops.

Tonight will rest at Yongpyong Resort.

6th May 2007 (Sun) ~ 2nd Day in Jeju Island

It was a rainy day. Today breakfast was toast with fried egg and so called abalone porridge. First destination of the day was Moksukwon Park. Strange and oddly natural lava rocks. The tour guide told us the stories and legends abt these rocks.

Touch the ground god status's nose, you will get a son. By touching his ear, you will have a daughter

Travelled to the eastern tip of Jeju Island, we visited the Songan Sunrise Peaks. It was really cold... Dear and I were shivering...

From the souvenir shops at Songan, we bought tangerine chocolate and jelly. Bought a dolphin souvenir for my gd buddy, Michelle.

Spent abt 35000 Won buying pure honey at Song up Folk Village. Traditional thatched houses under a protection order, where people continue to live and work as they have done for centuries. Males were more important than females at this village in the olden days. Had Black Pork BBQ for lunch. Quite delicious...

Went to experience the 'Mysterious Rd', the vehicle can move by its own for abt 1M with the car engine off. Today's dinner have to pay extra 25000 Won to eat a sumptous seafood steamboat. Actually, I suspected the tour guide would 'pocket' some of these $. It happens in most tour group.

5th May 2007 (Sat) ~ To Jeju Island

Early morning, had our breakfast at the same restaurant where we had our Ginseng Chicken soup. Buffet breakfast - oily noodle, gyoza, plain mantou, porridge etc... Went to Nam Sangol Hanok Village - filming site of 'DaeJangGeum' after breakfast.

Only had two hours to shop at Myeong-dong and Namdaemun. Needed to catch a dosmestic flight to Jeju Island. Bought my first souvenir in a department store at Myeong-dong. Had lunch at Chinese restaurant.

4200 Won for One box of 5 pens and 8000 Won for the Key Chains of 5 with LED light

Had to board a shuttle bus and then alighted to board the flight on the runway. So interesting man...

Upon reaching Jeju, had seafood steamboat after check in at Jeju Oriental Hotel. Went shopping at Tapdong Street, bought 2 same necklaces from a department store.

Not much activities today... Wan an...

3 May to 10 May 07 ~ Korea Trip

3rd May 2007, Singapore time 23 25hrs - Korean Air KE642/Boeing 777-300 setting off from Changi Airport Terminal One. The journey to Korea began...

4th May 2007, Korea time 06 35hrs - Korean Air KE642 landed at Incheon International Airport. We reached Seoul, capital of Republic of Korea (South Korea). Had early breakfast on flight. ABF...

Greeted by Korean born Chinese tour guide, Andy and Korean photographer, Kiki. Had a first wrong impression - thought Kiki was the tour guide and Andy is the boss of the Travel agency cos he was wearing suit.

1st itinerary of the day - Nami Island. Shooting film for Korean drama - Winter Sonata.

After lunch, we had a long travelling in our tour bus. Next, 'The Jump Show', it replaced the Lotte World for the itinerary as it was under renovation. Comical show with excellence kung fu fighting performance. Impressive!

Dinner for today - Ginseng Chicken Soup. One small spring chicken stuffed with steamed rice, herbs and red dates inside. Aiya, forget to take photo!!!

Stayed in 6* Grande Sheraton Walker Hill Casino Hotel. Lost 5500 won in the Casino at the jackpot.

Today is the second nite of the trip...

Fun at Sentosa

7 more days to Korea...

Woke up early today to do my usual laundry. Went to mit my colleagues at Harbourfront. Told them there is an internet cafe tt serves nice Bryani, but didnt expected the cafe closed down already...

After my colleagues finished their lunch, we headed to the Cable Car Tower ticket office to purchase tix for entry to Sentosa. $6.50 for two way ride cos I used the Islander card to purchase my tix.

Upon reaching Sentosa, we started our day with the Sentosa Luge. Bought tix for one luge + one skyride at special rate $5 only. Thanks to my Islander card again. I highly recommended everybody to try these two new attractions cos it's real fun. Part go-kart, part-toboggan - the luge is a fun-filled gravity ride that's safe for all ages. With a unique steering and braking system that allows you to make the ride as leisurely or as exciting as you want.

We then went to purchase the admission tixs for the Songs of the Sea' (previously was the musical fountain), it can only be purchase at the Beach stn ticketing conter. Had to rush to catch the free shuttle bus from Imbiah stn to watch Pink Dolphins' show which started at 3.30pm.

Next, we took the roofless top double decker bus to Underwater World. I always like to look at the huge sting ray. Nw can actually buy food and feed them. Saw a lot of sea animals like sea horses, crabs, jellyfish etc. Seems like my colleague wasnt happy with me when I cant even take one gd shot for her with the fish. Sigh...

After Underwater World, we went to catch a glimpse of the overall view of Sentosa island and southern shores. During admission, we were given a coin to deposit into the Merlion's mouth for a mysteious free gift. There were 3 type of mysterious gift. Gift A - Paper fan, Gift B - A mini Merlion figurine and Gift C - A poster. All of us got A except my colleague's husband, who got B. We were complaining that we shall go Merlion as the first itinerary if we know we were given a paper fan. The weather was quite hot lor... Lol...

One Man, oops... Shall be One Crab show

We decided to experience the Sentosa 4D Magix before we proceed to watch our 'Song of the Sea'. Something happened, our dear Yahti cannot find her Islander card. She searched her whole haversack and her wallet for a few times. This blurred cute gal had put her card in between some brochures. In the end, we did not experience the 4D Magix cos we have to rush to watch 'Song of the Sea'. Had a luge ride again. Just cant get enuff of this ride. Haha...

I must commented the props for the 'Song of the Sea' looks nice, but nothing really special about the show except one or two fireworks to round up the show.

What's Up

In the end, nv went to Jolin's concert since all the gd seats were sold out.

Finally booked my ticket to Korea, looking forward to the trip. It's my first time going overseas for so many days. A big 'thank you' to my sponsorer - Des Lie. Must buy a lot of souvenirs for many ppl, esp ppl like Moontie, Jaime and Wendy etc.

Went to Hog's Breath Cafe at Vivo yesterday. Really must go on an empty stomach or else you cant finish the food. The food quite nice but a bit high end. Nice harbour view.

Night Safari

Went Night Safari after work today with my colleagues. Took bus 138 from Ang Mo Kio to the Safari. Must thank to my colleague's friend who is working there, we only need to pay 50% of the admission fee. Unfortunately, it was drizzling on that day, so the animal show was cancelled. We set on to board the tram and began our adventurous tour at the Night Safari.

We alighted at a station and walked thru the path to view some animals at a closer distance. Actually some of the animals were apdoted by some companies like DFS Venture, Standard Charter, M1... The most funny adoption is tigers were adopted by Tiger Balm.

Had a close distance with the Malayan bats and Giant Flying Squirrels. My female colleagues were quite frightened of the Malayan bats cos the bats were allow to fly freely. So they decided not to walk into the Bat Mangrove Walk. End up only me and my 'grandson' took the walk. Actually, only a few bats were hanging freely in the special cage, but I really had a close distance with one of the bats hanging at a tree. The bat's eyes a bit scary, like dracula's eyes...

We also saw the Clouded Leopards, Spotted Hyena, Indian Wolf and Porcupine etc. Did I mention it's my first time going to Night Safari?

Low Morale

Had been feeling down for quite some times liao. I cant rem for hw long. It's due to job la. Really think majority of my colleagues came out from asylum. Think I will become mad like them if I stay in this com for too long... Mad people!!!

I know my performance had dropped tremendously. Every morning when I wake up, hw I wish I dun have to go thru the same process of waking up so early, facing congestion and long journey to office. Another thing, working on Sat is really a torture for me. Sigh...

Sorry to make you all hear my grumbling the moment I update my blog after 'MIA' for one month plus. Thousand apologies.

Just a brief update for my Feb and early March activities.

My First Birthday Present This Year

Went to meet Michelle for dinner today. Decided to go to this cafe which both of us nv went before at Purvis St. It's called Miss Clarity Cafe - A small simple cafe with simple deco, suitable for friends & couples. I spotted this place one day while I was helping my despatch guy to post letters @ Bras Basah. Always curious what are the eatery shops at Purvis lane. There's Killiney coffeeshop with nice wallpaper for their wall deco (Dun play play hor)... A Japanese restaurant, two Shanghai cuisine restaurants and a few coffeeshops.

Back to Miss Clarity Cafe, this cafe mainly serves western food. Price reasonable, no service charge. $11 for soup+main course+drink+dessert. Food tastes average but nt bad. A bit of 'candlelite' dinner cos the waiter light up the small candle at each occupied table. Darling was complaining I can only have candlelight dinner with him wor...

Received my first birthday present from Michelle this year - A bag from Charles & Keith. Heard from her that her bf helps in choosing my present. So honoured man...

Fri 13th - My MD gave me a fright!!!

Today went to Tong Shui Hong Kong cafe with Jaime doll, my new lunch khaki. Nice deco esp when the walls is painted with bright fuschia pink. We were chatting happily and I mentioned to her abt my friends, my polyz days etc.

When we were abt to leave the cafe, I saw a lady who looks like my fav Moontie. I was not confident whether if I recognised the right person, so I just stood besides her for a while, but she didnt look at my direction leh. Sigh... Her friend was puzzled why I was standing besides her. Anyway, I am in a hurry to go back to my office, so I just walked off.

Later in the office, I sms Moontie asking whether did she go to the Hong Kong cafe. It's really her! Haiz, hw can I nt recognized my dear old Moontie? What a sotong...

Just nw while in a discussion with my boss, my MD passed by her room. Then he suddenly reversed back to my boss's office and spoke to me in a serious tone, 'Next time don't put chocolate on your table.' I was stunned by his action and thought he was nt happy to see food on my table. I quickly apologised to him thinking that he was really angry. Then he said, 'or else the chocolate will be gone cos I will eat it'... What is this man?! He really scared the wit out of me la! Anyway, how many MDs in this world will joke with his staffs? Hmmm... I think I am also quite daring, come to work late often when I am just sitting outside his room. Eating breakfast at my work desk everyday like nobody's business.

He really ate my Kit Kat which my Receptionist's friend bought from Japan. I am going to pass my tax invoice to the Finance liao. Air ticket to Japan and $ to buy the Kit Kats, what else?
